18. November 2020

Saubermacher triple environmental world champion

With its high sustainability standard, the recycling firm from Styria has been se-lected as the world's most sustainable disposal company for the third time in a row.

Scoring 93 out of a possible 100 in the sustainability assessment of the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), Saubermacher again received the best global ranking in this prestigious business discipline in 2020. The American/Dutch institute has not scored the sustainability of infrastructure and service companies in terms of environment, social and corporate management as highly as it did Saubermacher.

The strict criteria include corporate management, corporate policy and its implementation, risk and opportunity management, monitoring and environmental management systems, cer-tifications, stakeholder management and performance indicators. The assessment criteria are revised every year and adjusted to market conditions. This year, Saubermacher was awarded 93 out of a possible 100 points. By way of comparison, the average number of points award-ed to participating companies was 61.

Saubermacher has been taking part in this sustainability assessment since 2016. ‘For Saubermacher, this is a particular victory and an affirmation that our many years of endeav-our are continuously improving the sustainability of our economy. We shall continue to follow this path in the future,’ explains Hans Roth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Sauber-macher AG.

By scoring so highly, Saubermacher has once again underlined its position as one of the world’s leading companies with high sustainability standards. With this exper-tise, the Styrian showcase company now offers successful environmental advice which is in high demand from companies and institutions.
